Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

How does it work?

Many practitioners believe that tapping on the acupuncture meridian points releases trapped emotional energy.  Or it may simply be a powerful distraction!  Whatever the explanation may be, EFT works.  We've seen this time and again in our practice (and we're sceptical 21st century hypnotherapists!).

What can it be used for?

EFT can safely be used for many of the issues that people come to us for help with.  We've successfully used it for

  • fears and phobias
  • reducing anxiety
  • coping with panic attacks
  • weight control and smoking cessation (by eliminating unhelpful cravings)
  • boosting confidence
  • lessening the impact of unpleasant or traumatic memories
  • sleep problems
  • pain control

What can you expect from an EFT session with Tadpole Hypnotherapy?

We tend to use EFT in addition to our solution-focused hypnotherapy and coaching.  It's a great technique to teach clients to use after the session, and it's a useful tool for everybody's health and wellbeing.  It's safe, easy to learn, simple to use, and is especially suitable for those who find it difficult to relax, don't like to shut their eyes, or who are nervous about the hypnotic process.

What is EFT?

EFT is a therapeutic technique developed in the United States by Gary Craig.  It involves gently tapping on certain points on the hands, face and upper body, whilst focusing on a particular problem or unwanted emotional state.  It's often referred to as "psychological acupuncture".
